that was a great game ... very underrated as far as "classic" contests are concerned

The announcing crew in the condensed version doesn't give enough credit to Gaddis. They make the game look like the Barry Sanders show that he was unfortunate enough to be on the losing end. He played a great game though.

Gaddis was a freshman that hadn't really broken out yet... Gaddis and Sanders still hold the NCAA record for combined yards by opposing backs b/c of that game, I think.

I guess you didn't see the texas game that year.

We did get a HUGE break in the last minute. I just didn't see the penalty being justified (recalling from memory). Otherwise it's what, 4th and an inch?

you thinking of 98?

OU's TD drive was typical "Sooner Magic." Couple of fumbles, Thompson running into Stafford or whoever it was on 4th and 1 and still picking up the 1st... And then some more "Sooner Magic" on the penalty against Limbrick when Casper threw him out of bounds.

You have to fell for Parker. I bet he hates ESPNC

Aggie,

Not sure if you're knocking Sooner magic, but you can't deny we've been pretty successful against you guys (and others), and rarely does it involve something "typical".

Sooner Magic is typical in that it is atypical. I'm not knocking it. I've been crushed by it several times.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of, though, he did have a really key reception for 43 yards in the 88 ut game.

In the 88 game- Gaddis 11.8 ypc!!!! Sanders- 5.5 ypc

Gaddis is obviously better

I'm sorry where did I say he was better?? Sanders was emerging as the Heisman fave for a RB. I can understand that, but the shortened version of the telecast is the barry sanders pimp show. Yes, Barry had a whopping 2 yards on Mike.
We'll never really know what Gaddis could have been due to the crap turf in Dallas.

I was joking...

I haven't ever seen the shortened broadcast. Gaddis had a great day, as did CT. This game is an example of Orange Gundy in big games. Terrible.

Which call are you referring to? If is the Limbrick tirade questioning the officials ancestry, then I can see why it was called. I was sitting in those corner bleachers right in front of it and we heard it.

If OSU would have had any defense that season, they would have won a MNC. OU and Nebraska just outpointed them. It is a good thing they didn't :D

my Director knew one of the officials from that game, and he once said that 'all game long, the officials had been warning BOTH teams about jawing after plays and such and more importantly jawing to officials.'

if he quoted Limbrick correctly, kicking him out of the game may have been justified as well.

I guess that radio career is over.

How are you uncooperative if you tell the police to take you to jail?
