The technical term you want there is "ichiban."

And yes, the Japanese know how to get down. Very large Apollonian/Dionysian split in their public/private personae.

technical term for what?

Frozen Sooner

"Pretty darn good."

Ichiban roughly translates as "Number One" and gets used very frequently in Japanese culture to indicate top notch or excellent. Like "Kirin Ichiban" beer or "Ichiban Geisha Girrr"

Heh. The birthday girl got a present from her roommate. A can of mixed nuts. And as we're all looking at her like she's dumb the roommate shouts "CAUSE SHE LIKES NUTS!"

Oooooo - did the party come with a happy ending?

I just throw that out there because I like the phrase "Happy Ending". I've started using that phrase quite frequently in normal conversation.

This thread is worthless without pics. Unless they're of GHP getting kancho-ed. I saw enough of that at trombone sectionals. :(

ichiban actually means exactly - number 1. No kind of about it.

Then it wasn't that good of a party.

Well, it was also plus a LOT of chicks, and minus the Owen Wilson. I consider that a good trade. ;)

Yes and no. No word in another language has an exact map to word in another language. The literal meaning, sure, but the connotation of ichiban is slightly different than that of "number one."
