Hello, from the department of the obvious......

I know...but this the first time I've seen it writing...... :)

Is anybody surprised that Butch Davis didn't wait around for this obvious job opening? Makes you wonder if this is really a top tier head coaching job. Hotbed area of recruiting but it's a small school with small fan base, and they play in the OB (or it would have been torn down years ago.)

I think he's been wanting to play against them more than play with them for quite a while now.

Anybody else think Dennis Dodd looks like Bikerfox?

I don't see them doing very well in replacing him. The problem that arises is that the kind of strict disciplinarian who would be able to keep that team in line is the very same type that would most likely want to refuse to take the job for ethical reasons.

The best they can do is get a second tier coach with extremely strong morals and a serious need for money.

He didn't leave on good terms with the big money donors or the upper officers of the school. I seriously doubt that Davis going back to Miami was even an option.

If Spurrier doesn't get it, I could see them hiring someone comparable to Boo Blake. (if not Blake himself). You heard it here first!

Schiano.
If and when Schiano loses to WV, he might.

That would be like the Rams of 99-01.

Miamuh thinks they pretty much name the coach that they want. It will really be interesting to see how this one plays out. Coker has known for most of the year that he is a lame-duck coach...I am sure that the U has been doing it's homework and researching the coaches that will entertain the idea of leading Thug U.

We all had better get our licks in as soon as possible with Butch at the helm now. He'll have Thug-U back in the limelight within 2 years.
