...which is really difficult for me, OSU is a formidible opponent this year....they have some real talent and although I think we should win, we won't if we have 5 turnovers or something stupid like that....

sanantoniosooner
11/18/2006, 11:29 PM
objective or obvious?

StoopTroup
11/18/2006, 11:30 PM
We're already two TD's up on them.

sooneron
11/18/2006, 11:31 PM
We won't win with 3 turnovers.

objective or obvious?

trying to be objective which is incredibly difficult for me when it come to OU football....

CtheB

Remember, we took some pretty stout teams up there the last three times and are fortunate we didn't lose them all. We've got to play well to beat them next weekend. OSU is young, and like most young teams play like kings at home and dead on the road. If this game were in Norman, I'd say we beat them by 3 touchdowns. In Stillwater, though, it's anyone's game to win.

Soonerus
11/18/2006, 11:38 PM
We've also gone to Stillwater many times and beat their asses to oblivion which could happen next Saturday...I think so...

CtheB
11/18/2006, 11:39 PM
Soonerus, I give you that. True, so true. I hope so as well.

sanantoniosooner
11/18/2006, 11:41 PM
So we have objectively stated that we could win or we could lose.

Soonerus
11/18/2006, 11:42 PM
I truly believe we have the best defense in the country right now......

Soonerus

Yes...

sanantoniosooner

Playing Baylor sure gives that impression.

We are good. I don't know just how good.

Will there be two or three inches of ice this year?

Soonerus
11/18/2006, 11:48 PM
No chance this year according to our expert meteorologist reports...

sanantoniosooner
11/18/2006, 11:49 PM
I think it's reasonable to assume that one team will score more points than the other. Even if it takes OT to do it.

I predict that even with 5 turnovers we win by 20.

When we Line up for the kickoff in stillwater we will know texas has lost to A&M and IF that doesn't motivate us I don't know what will....!!!!

Sooners with no fumbles OU 39 - pokes 17
Sooners with fumbles OU 22 - pokes 17

Still R'

So you think that OSU gets ZERO point of turnovers?

Even Baylor got 10

Blues1
11/19/2006, 12:00 AM
Maybe they get 3 ...??
So it would be Sooners 22 - pokes 20....

Too damn close for sure even at 22 to 17...!!!

The good part of fumbles this week is it will ensure few or no fumbles next week...

so they haven't fixed it after the previous games, but they get it done this week?

Is "not fumbling" our new wrinkle?

Soonerus
11/19/2006, 12:08 AM
No, it is fixable...remember Rotnie Anderson...

sanantoniosooner
11/19/2006, 12:16 AM

yeah it's fixable.

But you suggested that we wont fumble in the next game because we did in this game.

We lined up in 2001 in Norman knowing that all we had to do was beat OSU and Colorado and we go to the national title game. We didn't.

Soonerus
11/19/2006, 12:20 AM
The point: it will be emphasized in spades this week in practice....

Why didn't we emphasize it after the last game with 4 turnovers?

OK review for me how many I's vs fumbles last week vs. this week ....

Crucifax Autumn
11/19/2006, 01:03 AM
LOL

Oddly it wouldn't be the first time I'd seen that on a board. One guy I knew would post about 200 times a day arguing with himself just to make one side or the other who joined in look dumb. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you have a real sense of fairness) it usually ended in both sides looking like morons.

I don't think you and I describe "we" the same way...

Crucifax Autumn
11/19/2006, 01:18 AM
And I believe that the answer was that last week the turnover problem was mainly interceptions, whereas this week the team can focus on ball handling and perhaps correct it like at midseason.

OK review for me how many I's vs fumbles last week vs. this week ....

Last week, we had one interception and three lost fumbles. This week, we had one interception and four lost fumbles. Notice I said "lost" fumbles. We had three additional fumbles last week that we recovered.

We fumbled nine times in the past two weeks.

Paul threw one intereception in each game. We (the Sooners) :D had more fumbles last week but lost more this week.

Well without question that is a recipe for disaster but I must assume our great coaching staff will concentrate on these issues....

If the INTs and fumbles get run in for TDs then the D has no say in it. We've had both lately.

Ummm....yeah buddy....lose the ball in stillwater and we will have a serious fight on our hands!
We have been laying the ball down all year, its not just gonna stop, some players carry the ball loose, you dont just correct that over night, I dont care how good a coach you are.
Its been a problem alright, see two losses on our record, Stoops knows it.
