I expect the worst out of people (unfortunately), but something tells me that tosu fans won't surprise me too much. They aren't exactly known for class. Ask a whorn.

That's amazing...like this game needed another dramatic twist!

Loved that guy...especially when telling Bill Frieder thanks but no thanks and then watching Michigan roll to the national title. Classic, Bo!

I liked Bo. I always did. He seemed like a good guy to Woody's assclown greaser.

That said-

Yah...that's not gonna happen! tOSU fans will probably set half the campus on fire tonight to celebrate his passing...then they'll set the other half on fire tomorrow after a now-motivated Meechigan team waxes their @$$es!

tOSU fans = CLASSLESS!!
...just like their players (i.e. Will Allen's cheap shot on McGahee in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, or that thug Robert Reynolds' choking of the Wisky QB in 2004)

1) Prayers to the family.

2) I'm already on record prior to this event that Michigan will beat tOSU.

3) How cool will this be if he faked his death to spark the Wolverines, a la that high school coach who shot himself to fire up his team.

Not sure if cool is the appropriate term, but it's hard to label such an action.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Bo Schembechler won a national title.

Bo was the AD at the time Michigan won the basketball title in 1989. Frieder accepted the job at Arizona St, but wanted to coach the team in the NCAA tourney. Bo basically said, no, we want a Michigan coach to coach Michigan. So, Fischer lead the team to the title with a little help from Glen Rice and Rumeal Robinson.

Holy shiat, the drama is just amazing. Biggest game for the blue in forever, and the old man bites it the day before.

Meechigan better win this game.

I picked Michigan to win before this news. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that the Maize and Blue are going to win this for Bo.
One of the all-time greats, and arguably the greatest coach who never won the national title.

Can't believe no one's mentioned it yet, but Bubba Paris (father of Courtney and Ashley) played for Bo at UM. So, there's that connection between Bo and OU.

In Bo's book he writes about the money A&M were throwing at him, he couldn't believe the salary they offered but, in the end he was not comfortable with the move. Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino's Pizza, rewarded him for staying at Michigan, with a pizza store. Said store was in Cowlumbus, Ohio.

Bo, may you rest in peace.

I didn't really give a **** who won this game until I heard about this, so now I hope meat-chicken wins.

...arguably the greatest coach who never won the national title.

Probably so.

Go Blue.

Never won the mnc

Not only that, he even managed to lose to John Cooper and Larry Smith.

With all due respect, he was one of the worst big-game coaches ever. His bowl record speaks for itself.

He was not a war-time consigliere. (Rest in peace.)

There's a bad that plays at a "Hate Michigan" festival tonight called "The Dead Schembechlers." They've played numerous times, so it's just a coincidence. They dress like Woody Hayes and sign songs like "Bomb Ann Arbor." I've always thought they were kind of funny, but I hope that they exercise some discretion tonight and try to keep it tasteful (not what CFB fans are known for).

I decided to do a little research (man, the Internet is great) and it looks lke the band said that tonight is their last gig under their current name, and that the proceeds from tonight's concert will go to a charity of the Schembechler family's choosing. Not a trivial gesture for (presumably) starving musicians.
