My apologies if this has been posted already but here's an interesting breakdown by conference of how much the coaches make:

I'm surprise at how much Morris and Calahan make in up front salary money. The big surprise is Ferentz at Iowa knocks down more ($2.8mil) than Carrol ($2.7mil) at USC! I'm sure this doesn't account for every dollar these guys earn like with camps and personal endorcements. Especially the ones in the big markets like Carrol.

I can't believe that Gundy only gets $800K, especially with big pappa Boone throwing around money up there.

Wow, Kragthorp only makes $438,533. For what he has done with TU, he should be making a lot more. If they don't raise his salary soon, he will be out of there, especially with all of the other schools wanting him.

I have heard some folks say Bob going to leave us...after reading his contract I think the man will stay till 2008.

If you scroll down to the 4th or 5th page, paragraph D you will the man gets a $3 million dollar aniversary bonus for staying 10 years.

Which is why Dave Rader is the only decent coach they have had in the last 30 years to stay longer than 2-3 years.
TU ain't going to pay the money necessary to keep a good coach.

Is Stoops' salary too high? Is he worth $325,000+/win (average year)?

i think so, when you consider all that stoops does he seems like a stand up guy, maybe a little excessive but we live in a state with ONE major football program, thus a lot of money goes his way, rather than paying for nfl stadiums and whatnot :)

Big 12 coaches look to be the highest paid in the Country. They average 1.576 million a year. That is a lot of coin.

Considering OU makes 5.5 million per home game in tickets and you can double that amount from donations. In 6 home games OU makes over 66 million from fans just walking into the stadium.

Kragthorpe needs to get a better contract.
