It was a complete team breakdown," the 77-year-old Bowden said afterward. "Just inept."

OR ---- Maybe a Complete Coaching Breakdown.....?

I think if he can keep Florida State sucking balls he should stay until he's 100.

Don't need to read the article. How it's not obvious to everybody that Bowden is finished, and only destroying the program he built, is beyond me. He should step down and allow that program to usher in a new area. He's showing a complete lack of respect for his own program in allowing it to flounder under his leadership.

I love watching FSU and Miami getting killed (no pun intended) but I think that when you have a coach with a legacy with the school that Bowden has you are going to have an extremely hard time asking him to leave. I think that he will have to go on his own.

Yes. It is sad. If they don't "let" him step down after this year, then they deserve to be bad for eternity.

Weren't people saying the same thing about Paterno a couple of years or so back?

He might still have a few good seasons left in him.

But then I also believe that at that age he shouldn't even be allowed to drive a car much less coach a Division 1 football team.

Story of the year is gonna be when one of those guys drives a car INTO a 1A football team.

I can go along with that. :D

Most people thought JoePa stayed too long too. I'd give him two more years to try and rebuild the program. I think he has deserved the shot after all of his time there.

Unfortunately, if he steps down it is pretty much a given that his son will be named head coach and allow the program to flounder under his leadership.

Bowden should have bowed out after we beat them for the MNC. He has been done for a while and he has only been tarnishing his legacy the last couple of years. Now people will remamber how he stayed on too long rather than the great coach he was.

Considering the success Bowden has had a FSU, i still think the best thing he could do for that program is to resign.
