You know this happened to an ISU player in the ISU-NU game and within 30 minutes he was fine. Hopefully, MJ will recover just as quickly.

My prayers are with him. He had some movement in limbs afterward. Hopefully just some kind of stinger. After game, Stoops sounded like he had heard that all was ok. Continue to pray for him.

Helmet to helmet collision. Looked like it knocked him out and he lost control of his arms and legs for a minute.

Stoops said on the postgame that he's moving his arms and legs and is getting feeling back. X-rays are negative.

Anyone there in OK getting anything from the local news?

He's OK. He's being held overnight at the hospital as a precautionary measure.

News does look good.

Tech's Chris Parker and Johnson appeared to hit helmets on the play, and Johnson had to be carted off the field and taken to a waiting ambulance.

Stoops said Johnson was responsive in the ambulance but would remain hospitalized overnight.

I've never seen anyone strapped down like that either. My impression was his hand was paralyzed in that position....seems like it was in that position when he went down on the sideline from one camera angle. Hope it is a very temporary situation, but I wish some official word would enlighten us.

that's the way they got to him when he went down. i guess they didn't want to change his position for fear of evoking greater injury...

I'd imagine that is correct....

I'm sure if their are any EMT's or Sports Medicine Docs around they would confirm what occurred...

where did this happen at? I was sitting in the north endzone and from my perspective I did not see this happen. All we saw were their players standing around the emt's and watching everything happen. We saw one tech player go down on a knee. BUt.. maybe this happened on the other side of the mass huddle, but from our side we didnt see it. I however did see on the news yesterday highlights from the game, they showed the clip of johnson down, followed by a clip of the tech team huddled in prayer, but...im pretty sure that clip of them huddled in prayer came from the end of pre-game warmups because I distinctly remember something happening in the background of the prayer that happened in pre-game warmups bc tech did their prayer in the north endzone right by where we sat. Any other input on this? did anyone at the game see the prayer huddle?

I was at the game sitting in the north endzone and I a majority of Tech team praying in a big huddle. I leaned over to my wife and told her that was one of the classiest things I've seen. I have a new found respect for Tech now.

From our vantage point I never could see MJ. I was wondering what happened to make The Pride cheer like they did. I thought he may have given a "thumbs up" or something but couldn't see it from where I was sitting.

People, he wasn't waving at the crowd. He was paralyzed at the time. If you watch replay, his hand was not moving and his digits were not moving. His body was rigid. The Mrs and I said a prayer at that time, it didn't look good. Glad to hear things are better.
