Really cool. Those beams go to the top of the building at 300 feet. Kinda looks like the current Texas Stadium roof. Cool.

The Arlington Cowboys! I was hoping for something that looked amazing like the Ballpark in Arlington. That sketch looks like another Texas Stadium which I actually like much less than the Cotton Bowl if that is possible.

I didn't see any bit about the CB offices in the article.

and at this time I would like to thank the citizens of Arlington for being the largest City in the US without mass transportation (they have voted no at least twice). Getting to any game there is going to really suck.

Since the new stadium is being built next to the Ballpark, you think they could have expanded the retractable roof so it could roll across the street and cover up the Ballpark during the hot July and August days?

Truman Sports Complex (Kauffman and Arrowhead) was built with that intention, but ran out of funding for that feature. I remember the railroad tracks on the west side of the stadia until maybe 1980 when they repaved the parking lots.

In the late 1960’s, after design and seating capacity concerns caused plans for a single, multi-purpose domed stadium to be scrapped, Kansas City opted to construct two separate stadiums, one for football and one for baseball. Voters approved the Sports Complex bond issue in 1967, which including plans for a revolutionary concept - the world’s first rolling stadium roof. Construction cost overruns and project delays caused by a lengthy strike eventually forced the roof concept to be put on hold, but Arrowhead was completed in time for the 1972 season.

They've updated the design and have been trying to get the roof done as part of an upgrade package. The NFL has all but promised a Super Bowl to Kansas City if the roof is built.

I remember when it was a big deal that the Skydome in Toronto had a retractable roof.

KC voters recently turned down the bond package for the rolling roof, so its not gonna happen.

I thought another problem with the roof was there is a slight difference in the elevation of the two stadia and that it would be impossible to get it up the incline and impossible to stop it once it started going down the incline.

Never say never... heck 25 years ago we all figured there'd be no roof, but there's been several efforts floated since (I remember the saddleback'ed Ruffles potato chip design circa 1983) and by a narrow vote this spring it very nearly became a reality...

I can't friggin wait. I have always wanted Cowboys season tix, and I may do it when they announce what the PSL's are gonna be.

And the players going through the club as a "tunnel" is a cool idea.

They stated that their bigges competition is the home theater. I have a feeling that the cost of the seat license and a pair of season tickets will be equal to a pretty sweet home theater system.
