SETTING THE STAGE: Oklahoma and Arizona meet for the first of four games this season and the first of two games in Tucson this weekend… The Sooners have an all-time record of 7-2-0 against Arizona and a 3-1-0 record in games played in Tucson against the IceCats…Last season, OU split the games against Arizona in Tucson, losing 6-3 the first night and coming back the next night to win 5-1…Dating back to the last game of last season, Oklahoma has now won its last fourteen games.

OKLAHOMA NOTES: Sooners forward Adrian Borchgrevink continues to lead the Sooners in goals with 14 and total points with 23…OU forward Doug Gebbie is second on the team in both goals (10) and points (20)…Oklahoma goaltender Aaron Schmeilski has a record of 5-0-0 with a 1.60 GAA and a .946 save percentage…Fellow Sooners goalie Ryan Anderson has a record of 4-0-0, 1.25 GAA, and .943 SV…The Oklahoma power play this season has scored 47 goals in 160 chances for a 29.38% success rate; against D1 opponents, that power play rate is 24% (18/75)…The Sooners penalty kill is equally as impressive, allowing only 7 goals in 121 opportunities for a 94.21% kill rate; against D1 teams, the penalty kill is 90.76% (6/65)…Oklahoma is 35-12-3 all-time in games played on Fridays and 6-6-2 in Friday games on the road.

ARIZONA NOTES: Arizona hosted Arizona State last weekend in Tucson, losing the first game in a shootout 5-4 and winning the next night, again in a shootout, by a score of 3-2…Like Oklahoma, Arizona recently participated in the ACHA D1 Showcase, beating Duquesne and Mercyhurst before falling to Western Michigan…Arizona is led in scoring by forward Craig Irwin who has eight goals and fourteen assists for a total of twenty-two points…Irwin is followed by forward Matt Conover (8-9-17), forward Robbie Nowinski (6-6-12) and defenseman Zach Samson (5-6-11)…Goaltender Luke Edwall has been in net for most of Arizona’s games this season, compiling a 2.65 goals against average..
