View Full Version : Is 'Awesome' the new 'Cool Beans'?

I was just wondering because I catch myself saying 'Awesome' much more than I should. My instructor in class also says it quite a bit.

There is a lady in the main office where I worked in Denver that still says 'Cool Beans'.

I like "radical"

I've been saying awesome and ridiculous way too much lately.

I've said awesome since the early 90's and haven't ever said cool beans. I hope if I ever do somebody throat-punches me.

I like to say groovy. I try to say "right on" as much as possible, but it's hard for me to get in the groove of saying it. I just really need to practice.

I always hated saying "cool beans". I'm pretty sure I haven't used it much, if any.

'right on 'is hard to pull off.

I think I quit saying cool beans in junior high or intermediate school. I think it was the thing to say for about 6 months. In Chickasha the really cool kids shortened it to beans and then it thankfully went away.

Im pretty sure that proper english requires you to attach "totally" before any said "awesome" or "radical"
i.e. Totally awesome, totally radical
Lets get it together people

"Splendid."

Only you have to say it all evil-like and rub your hands together for effect, or it just sounds gay.

Cool will never go out of style (in an Arthur Fonzarelli tone).

I miss getting to say it's "the bomb".

Sometimes, 'awesome' is the only word that really works.

I tried for a while after a year of hearing Travis Linville say it in guitar lessons, but just couldn't do it. It's the most natural thing in the world coming from him, and sounds like a car wreck coming from me. Definitely not for amateurs.

I almost said that Travis is a natural at it and has it mastered but I edited it out before I hit send.

I tried the same thing. It just doesn't work the same way when I say it.

I have decided that 1TC is the only one here to ever say CB.

I have decided that he is pwned.

Carry on.

I like to say righteous as much as possible. It makes me think of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

"Iron Maiden? Righteous!"

whatever happened to bitchin'?

Bitchin' is reserved for the righteous moment to use Bitchin'.

It almost always elicits a laugh and is one of my 80's holdover phrases.

I tend to overuse 'dude' and 'sweet' . 'Awesome' immediately followed the whole 'wicked' deal.

Heard a 40 year old tell me his new car was "pimp" the other day. So, I pimped slapped in for being so stupid.

PQ: 'Dude, that thing is such a waste of time.'
