well, I like chocolate cake better than mincemeat pie. But, I like lemon meringue pie better than asstasting cake.

Why don't we have pie's to celebrate big events, like birthdays, weddings, etc...?

German Chocolate Cake is better than some pies, but pies in general kick cake butt.

While I LOVE pie crust, I've never been a fan of the texture of most pies. They're tasty, but cake has a better texture to me. You can also do almost as much with a cake as you can with a pie. It's not quite as concentrated, but if you can make a pie with it, you can make a cake with it as well.

Why don't we have pie's to celebrate big events, like birthdays, weddings, etc...?
I think that cakes can be made much bigger while preserving a normal sized "piece" than pies can. And I think wedding pie is for after the reception.

Is cheesecake really a cake? It's more like a pie than a cake, yet it's called a cake. Mmmmm...cheesepie. I bet that's what they serve in heaven.

Hot apple pie avec cheddar fromage.
Punkin' pie with REAL whipped cream.
Cherry pie ala mode.
PeeCAHN pie with REAL whipped cream.
Brown paper packages, tied up with string.

Homemade pecan pie. Not that crap from the store, but pecan pie with big as* pecans and good flakey crust. Second place? Blackberry cheesecake. I'm with Beff, I think it's more like pie than cake, but it's called cake? :D
