Chili!!! Yes, it's Lisa's famous elk chili this Saturday, in several varieties for the adventurous and not-so-adventurous. Festivities kick off at 2:00 p.m. Cornbread, crackers, and desserts are needed. If you want to bring anything, coordinate with Deano via PM.

I've got some steaks from a buck killed last Saturday. Vacuum packed. Young deer. Let me know if you want a couple. I'll put them in the RV freezer.

Thanks, but I still have a few steaks from last year and I'm pretty sure I'll shoot a nice doe after I get my big buck weekend after next.

I saw deer every single day I hunted black powder. I saw bucks running down does a half-dozen times. A couple of very nice bucks. Always just out of range, moving too fast, or I was dealing with my sick heifer and calf while the deer went by me.

I had 4 different 4-5 pointers in my sights with the safety off. Maybe 10 does. Each time I just went "nah, I've got fresh deer in the freezer, I'm gonna wait for Mr. Buckzilla right now." It sure was fun drawing down on them and knowing I could have dropped them - and they didn't have a clue I was there.

I saw about 14 that weekend and on the Sunday morning had Mr. Buckzilla and his brother not 50 yards from my stand. They were chasing 2 does that came through a few minutes earlier, I couldn't get a clear shot at the buck because the day before when we set the stand we did'nt trim all the tree limbs. If I would have trimmed that dayum limb I would of had him.... Hopefully I'll see something just as good during gun season.

I hope you can get more hunting time in...the last few years with my job and health I've only spent about a day and a half in the woods. I'm taking 4 days off opening weekend.

and just for the record, I got monies from JK, Racer, 1sttime, Howzit(but that was AFTER he was too stupid to figure it out and he sent me a BILL instead of money), I_SMELL_FEAR, Picasso, and Norm paid you. PG and GHP said they are gonna pay me at the tailgate. I picked up the rest. So anyone else that said they'd donate and didn't can bite me.

So there's your TTech tailgate sponsors....a motley crew indeed.

Bruce didn't donate even though he could have written a check for ALL the tailgates.

SBSB's Jalapeno Poppers almost didn't make it to the table.

PG's 4 pies were decimated.

The chili was awesome.

The football cookies Pics' fiancee brought were inhaled.

We had to listen to the last 2 1/2 minutes of the Texas game on the radio cuz Czar unplugged the TV and satellite box.
