You seem to be pretty emotionally invested in the team right now;)

I shudder to think of how much rehab goes into a torn ACL, PCL, and MCL along with a broken kneecap.
I wish ESPN had given a warning before they showed it. Friggin sick.

I think ESPNews did...or I was just imagining Michelle Bonner in my bed again and didn't notice a warning.

Dirk was so money in the 4th quarter late with that shot over Darko...

Dirk for MVP!!!!!!!!!

colleyvillesooner
3/7/2007, 12:11 PM
Dirk money again late. Nets pulled within four in the last two minutes. THye ran the ball through dirk, he hit a shot, and hit another drawing the foul. 40 seconds, 5 point on clutch time. He's the MVP.

Half Black/Half Asian.

Get it right. ;)

Meanwhile, your Dallas Mavericks are now responsible for the worst home loss in Lakers history since that franchise moved to LA.

And a garbage bucket saved them from the worst franchise loss ever.

Well, looks like the streak's gonna end tonight.

And while this has very little to do with the current deficit (we should be good enough to overcome it), tonight's game has been horribly officiated. I guess it's no surprise that one of the culprits in one of the worst officiated NBA playoff games of all time is officiating tonight.

colleyvillesooner
3/13/2007, 08:53 AM
Yeah, refs were bad, but you're right, had no bearing on the outcome. Mavs played bad D and faced a team that shot 70% in the first half. Can't win with that combo.

I get it.

Streaks don't matter now that it's over.;)

BTW....I don't think the team that typically has the best road record year in and out is afraid of winning on the road. In fact, the Spurs tend to play better on the road in the playoffs.

heh, so of their 7 road wins, 2 are against teams leading their conference.

the amusing part is that the reasons given by the 'experts' are that the Pistons took them too lightly, and that Don Nelson knows how to defeat the Mavs better than anyone ;)

GrapevineSooner

C'mon refs, don't blow this with crappy officiating.

You've already given Phoenix three calls in the span of less than one minute in this double OT.

GrapevineSooner
3/14/2007, 11:05 PM
**** these refs

GrapevineSooner
3/14/2007, 11:07 PM
And then they allow Amare to get away with a blatant over the back foul.

They've ruined this second OT. They've absolutely ruined it.

GrapevineSooner
3/14/2007, 11:19 PM
*sigh*

Well, give credit to the Suns and to Nash.

We had our chances to close out the game in regulation and didn't.

colleyvillesooner
3/14/2007, 11:20 PM
And then they allow Amare to get away with a blatant over the back foul.

They've ruined this second OT. They've absolutely ruined it.

To start, Howards foul on Nash's 3 and Dirk missing two from the line under 30 sec are what lost us the game.

Dirk's MVP chances took a dent tonight at the hands of steve nash.

That said, Amare picked up 2 fouls in the first 4 minutes. I said to the mrs "Watch he won't get another till the 4th quarter." I was wrong, he got it in OT.

The Stack takedown on the rebound by Amare was a horrible no call.

Proud of the team for battling back from 16 down, but hate the sour taste in my mouth.

GrapevineSooner
3/14/2007, 11:23 PM
Well, if there's a silver lining this will probably put a stop to all the 'will Dallas win 70?' talk.

And yes, our inability to close out this game when we had a five point lead with the ball and less than a minute to go in regulation is what truly cost us this game.

Still, that was high-school caliber officiating in the second OT.

And to the poster who negged me, thanks for not having the cajones to identify yourself.

Probably 04 trolling around here, again.

sanantoniosooner
3/14/2007, 11:38 PM
which post did you get negged for?

GrapevineSooner
3/14/2007, 11:56 PM
Where I mentioned D'antoni's...uhhh.... :O

I think I'm going to do this.

The next time I feel the urge to complain about officiating, I'm going to think of things my team could have done to avoid putting themselves in a position where bad officiating could factor negatively into the outcome.

Would have certainly nipped this urge in the bud considering how we cratered in the last minute of regulation.

We're in a bad way right now. And if that early four game losing streak taught me anything, it's that there's plenty of ebbs and flows throughout an NBA season. Come playoff time, I'm just going to try my best to enjoy the playoffs and not get too down or frustrated when things aren't going the Mavs way.

I think you all know that the way I acted tainted the experience for every NBA fan on this board last spring. And a little bit of that act came out tonight. I'll be determined to ensure that doesn't happen, again, this spring.

GrapevineSooner
3/15/2007, 12:14 AM
Well, this team hasn't faced any adversity for awhile. Now, Phoenix is a scant three games back in the loss column while the Spurs are lingering back at seven games.

I guess if you have to have some adversity, now is the time to have to face it in small doses as opposed to rolling through the regular season only to find yourselves in a dogfight come playoff time.

3/15/2007, 06:48 AM
horrible officiating down the stretch, but whats new.....its league wide imo

we cant miss critical free throws like that and expect to win

dirk missed some "money" shots down the stretch as well

maybe this team needed a dose of humility and reality

Scott D

not that it matters at this point but Nash's 3 to tie in regulation was really a 2.

Water under the dam.

Good fans get worked up sometimes. I think I strive to stay so even keeled that some question my commitment as a fan. Try to remember I'm nearly a Mav fan when I give you guys a hard time. It's just for fun. Like wearing stetchy pants.

Which means we're basically back to where we were at the beginning of last week prior to the Mavs semi-meltdown.

Especially with Rip's free throw shooting today. ;)

Check that, your entire team's free throw shooting in the fourth.

Has Sheed made a 3 today?

Scott D
3/18/2007, 06:43 PM
heh...hey I figured we were gonna lose early. I underestimated Flip Murray, and figured that his play against Phoenix was an anomoly. Surprizingly I'll take a 4 pt loss in the first game after a 5 game western road trip without our all-star point guard.

No, Sheed was 0 for in 3's today. Sounds like Dirk actually making baskets in the second half was the difference. I missed the 4th quarter due to work.

I bet Rip doesn't miss that many free throws in a game again this year. Although he can usually be counted on for missing one per game.
