Decades ago, didn't the schooner come running out on the field immediately after a score?


Today, the schooner doesn't come out until everybody is off the field and the nation is on a TV timeout. It seems like I remember the schooner running out when the players were still on the field.

maybe they decided to wait because of the 85(?) Orange Bowl.

Hmmm. I 'member seein' the schooner on teevee in the '90s. Maybe it was during replays or after coming back from a 'mercial though.

I THINKS A BIG PART OF IT , BUT IM SURE THEY WAIT FOR THE PLAYERS TO GET OUT OF THE WAY ALSO
