OKLAHOMA NOTES: Sooners forward Doug Gebbie had a hat trick in last night’s game…Forward Laddy Tresl and defenseman Danny Force each had two goals for the Sooners last night…Sooners captain Phil Ritter scored his first goal of the season last night…OU goaltender and Woodbury, MN native Chad Helgason is from the same hometown and played hockey with Minnesota forwards Craig Mielke and Dane Hudlik…Oklahoma forwards Adrian Borchgrevink and Jordan Novak will have to sit out tonight’s game to serve game disqualification penalties received for fighting in yesterday’s contest…Oklahoma is 36-12-1 all-time in games played on Saturdays and 24-7-0 in Saturday games at home.
MINNESOTA NOTES: Minnesota got goals last night from Alex Jorgensen, Justin Fuith and Joe Cummings…Gopher goalies Trevor Fairley faced a barrage of shots from OU last night, enduring 49 shots and stopping 37 of them…Mielke will also have to sit out tonight’s game for receiving a game disqualification penalty yesterday…The Golden Gophers were 0 for 12 on the power play last night, including a two-minute 5-on-3 situation.
