Here's something I ran across this morning that I had never seen before.

Since 2001...

When OU scores more than 20 points, they are 55-5. When OU scores 30 points or more, they are 48-1.

When OU scores less than 20 points, they are 6-8.

It sounds to me like if OU scores 20+ in this game, they have a pretty good shot at winning and if they score 30, its almost a sure thing.


In the same time period, when TAMU scores 20+ points, they are 35-17
When TAMU scores 30+ points, they are 23-5.

When TAMU scores less than 20, they are 3-13.


First one to 20 wins!!!!

I remember my freshman football coach telling us that. Score 24 and you'll probably win. Seems pretty sound.

I guess the moral of this post is that the more points you score, the more likely you are to win. Who knew? :)

I think the shocking thing, assuming the stat was compiled correctly, is that OU has scored between 20 and 30 points only 11 times since 2001, but scored over 30 almost 50 times. Stoops may be known for D, but his offenses have been pretty good... Even when his offenses looked horrible they still put up 30+
