I am in the market for a new truck. I have been looking around but I can not seem to decide on what I want. I can finance for about 25k, anyone have any good ideas?

Dodge.

The end and thank you for playing.

End. Of. Story.

Step 1) Get pre approved financing from YOUR bank or credit union.

Step 2) Take this approval to every scumbag dealer and say, "I have $25K to spend. Give me something to test drive."

Step 3) Find a truck you like.

Step 4) Tell dealer to take a hike and find the same vehicle by private seller.

Yeah don't go with Dodge.

It really all depends on what you're wanting a truck for. If it's for hard labor then I would recommend a Ford F150. Every Ford my family has had ran well over 200k miles without a problem. If it's simply for towing stuff and the occasional workload, look at a Chevy Avalanche. My dad just got an '05 and it is the best riding truck I have ever been in.

I am looking at a 04 Ford F150 Crewcab.

It is mainly to haul baseball equitment and to roll down to Nomton on the weekends. I have had a 91 Explorer for the last 7 years, I have pretty much run it into the ground. I def do not want a Dodge!

the pick-up class might be as consistantly good as any. Lots of good options

Pick one you like. I hardly ever hear of anyone disliking what they bought. Whether it's GM, Ford, Dodge, Nissan, or Toyota. If you don't have any preference, go for the one with the best price for like-optioned trucks.

There may be some 0% financing offers out there. Check it out. I haven't looked lately, so I don't know for sure.

I've been really happy with my Tundra. It rides a lot smoother than any other truck I've ridden in and it was about 5k cheaper that a domestic with comparable trim. Plus, the resale is ridiculous.

The ford I am looking at is Sooner red with siliver trim. Crewcab, short bed, all leather inside and it runs pretty well. I want one with a entertainment package in it. I have some speakers in my car now that I want to put into the new one.

Thanks for the help guys.

Also, it sounds like you're looking at used trucks, but if you're looking for a new truck and happen to have USAA insurance, they will negotiate your price for you. On our last car they beat the **** out of the lowest price ever recorded to fighting chance for my wife's car and it took us exactly 5 minutes to negotiate that pricing.

I've heard good things about Toyota and Nissan's trucks.

That said, I'd go with a Dodge. My granddad wouldn't buy anything else; he only bought three different trucks over the course of his life and every one of 'em was a Dodge. They probably averaged out to about 20-year lifespans.

It'll need some 20's.

Toby Keith seems pretty content driving his Ford to his construction job in the morning and then to his graveyard shift on the oil rig.

We've driven GMC's where I work since the business opened in '78
and they've all been good trucks and some even better than that.
We've driven some well over 200k and never had ANY major
problems. That said, I'd buy the Porsche Cayanne!

Whooooooops! It's not a truck...

I own an extended cab '98 Chevy Silverado and have been really pleased with it so far. I've had to repair a few things, but hey it's paid for.

I drive a crewcab 4x4 F150 here at work and that thing is sweet.

My bro-inlaw bought a truck about a year ago and looked at Fords, Dodges and Chevies and ended up buying a crewcab Dodge 2500 4x4. He said it was the best priced truck with the options he wanted.

If I ever buy another truck it'll definitely be a crew cab.

Find yourself an 04 lariat if you are going with a Ford.

Leather seats, and a nice entertainment package.

Or you could buy a Lightning and just use it to dust every other truck on the road.

The new '07 Silverado's are nice.....they have the front like the new Tahoes rather than the angry lights of years past (like mine).

If you want a plastic, rattling pos then go dodge.

Ford's used to be the best work trucks, but any more I dont think they are any better than a Chevy IMO.

If you are in the market for a new Chevy, go to 2 places. Knippelmier (sp?) in Blanchard or Hellack in Davis...I have bought my last 2 vehicles from them, and they gave me by far the best deals, with 0 pressure and no tricks or BS...they are just guys that want to put you in a vehicle. We called around several places when we bought my truck, and they were the only 2 that we called that gave us the straight story on incentives and rebates, the others all tried to lie about it.

The day that Toyota builds a 1-ton+ diesel 4x4 will be the day that I own one.

And all this "F-150, Chevy/GMC 1500, Dodge 1500" talk and using the word "truck" in the same sentence is silliness. The "Avalanche" talk with truck in the same sentence is extreme silliness. None are really trucks. They're more like SUVs with a pickup bed.

You told us a while back that every family should own a truck because at some point, every family will need one.

NOW WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO SINCE WE MISBOUGHT???!!111

I have always driven Chevy trucks never had any problems with them.

My dad bought a Dodge diesel and I about died. It's ugly and its loud and I don't think the ride is near as smooth as a chevy. Fords are cheap and seem to be decent.

I said "everybody should own a pickup because at some point, everyone will need one." If I accidently slipped the word "truck" in there it's my bad.

I'm sure you have a point, but I'm not sure what it is. Did I ever say everybody needs a heavy duty truck? Nope. I said everybody needs a pickup because at some point, they're gonna need to use one.

if you're going to get a work truck I'd suggest the Chevy with a Duramax. It's much quieter than the others and the Allison tranny is the best out there.

If you wand a 1/2 ton, I think you can get an El Camino or Ranchero on the cheap.
