View Full Version : Okay, someone please help my simple brain understand...
Why do we suck because we have a "receiver-turned-quarterback", but South Carolina is TOTALLY AWEXOME because they have a "receiver-turned-quarterback"? Me is confused.

'Cause did you see the size of the dude's JAW?
If PT had a jaw that size, we'd be 8-0. That's right, we'd have won a game we haven't even PLAYED.

For a serious answer-because OU is supposed to be a program at the level of not needing a WR to convert to QB. We should have a stocked cupboard of QBs. South Carolina is not. Who's the last SC quarterback you remember? Steve Taneyhill?

In all honesty, I think its because the Cocksman ended up at QB because of a torn achilles tendon which ended his running back career.
They dig that struggling back from adversity angle.
That said, the kid is a scrambler. I haven't seen a kid consistently avoid a blitz and either a) get the pass off, b) or pickup yards on the keep like he does in a long time.
Bottomline, he is where he is by a twist of fate like ENA, but he got there because Spurrier said, "WTF?, let's go with it!" I think its kinda cool myself.

That thing was freakin' awesome.
Steve Tanneyhill was like the Boz...If Boz had been an overrated college quarterback. :D

It is pretty simple why they say you guys suck. Number 1 you are in the Big 12 and nobody but Texas is getting any love for that. You guys have a legendary program, when it appears to be an off year for you, you get no love (they have to save all that for a consistantly mediocre Notre Dame).

That's a good answer, but how many teams have a 3rd and 4th QB on the bench that were highly recruited?
Even if Bomar were still here and had gotten hurt (for a lengthy period of time), PT would have still been asked to play QB again....IMO.
