Berlin - Former Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann is in preliminary discussions with the American football federation (USSF) on the possibility of him becoming the coach of their national team, Bild newspaper reported on Friday.

The 42-year-old Klinsmann, a World Cup winner in 1990 and European champion in 1996, refused to sign a contract extension with Germany after leading them to third spot at the World Cup on home soil this summer to spend time with his family in California.

"We have had talks and we will continue the discussions to see where they might lead," Klinsmann told Bild, "I would like to be a coach again one day."

I think JK's worth a shot; he'd be waaaaaay better than Sven-Goofball Erikson who was mentioned awhile back

That'd be a good get IMO.

sure it would. we could use a big name to bring some notoriety to the team.

this guy has had an incredible career and his experience would be invaluable to a young team.

carlos quieroz (assistant to fergie at man u) is also a strong possibility.
