Better than havin allergies....???? sometimes...and in the long run i'm sure i'll be happy. But almost every time one arm bruises and the other arm get a big knot in it and aches for a day or two. and I really don't want them to have to cut my dose in half and give me shots twice a week :(

This reminds me. I believe, though not certain, that my ailment of about 6 weeks ago was a cold rather than allergies. It was, without a doubt, the worst cold I have had in a decade. However, if it was allergies I feel oh so sorry for anyone who has them and doubly bad for anyone who has to have shots to curtail them.

Hey, it could be worse. Could be a spiderbite.

oh, flu shots are awful for me. The last time i got one it made my arm swollen and sore for a week and a half and i got the flu. A mild case of the flu, but flu nonetheless.

20 on 20 off.

minutes that is. do that about 5 times and you'll probably be OK.

It was a shot, not a no-hitter.

Allergy shots were kind of a blessing in disguise when I was a kid. At the time I was terrified of needles and would freak out if I thought I was going to get a shot. After a couple of weeks of getting 4 shots in 1 arm and 3 in the other, I was completely over my fear. The shots didn't help my allergies and I eventually stopped having them but I've never had any needle fear since then.

A few years ago I even started giving myself allergy shots in my thigh.

Oh, and flu shots SUCK! They're the only ones that cause my arm to hurt.

How long did you stick with the allergy shots before giving up on them? they're not instant-acting, you have to build up tolerance. Mine took three years, but WAY less stuff bothers me now than did before.

Oh, and flu shots give me sinus infections. Weird, but I used to get a sinus infection every winter like clockwork until I stopped getting the damn flu shots. Haven't been sick in the winter since then.

Dude, you might want to get a flu shot this year, tho. I hear the Cute Asian Bird Flu is pretty bad.

Well, I was 7 at the time and mid-'70s era allergy immunology was sort of sucktacular. I think I did it for about 18 months before the allergist said it wasn't helping me so my mom stopped making me do it. After that I had to get my fix from some dude named "Paco" behind the school playground. He said it was free. Turned out only the 1st one was free.
