Rachel Ray is today's worst offender followed by Emeril--and whoever is on right now obviously trying to score with this fake blond chick who is not so hot.

Agreed.

Rachel Ray made ground beef with onions and peppers over rice....with crumbled blue corn tortilla chips and avocado and diced tomatoes.

Emeril made penne with vegetables and prosciutto with two battered chicken breasts.

whoo!

the cooking shows on PBS in Denver pwn the one's on the Food N. plus, the camera stuff is not nearly as goofy and "cinema veritas". the stylization of the "floating camera" is hilarious.

even though i want to punch him about half the time.....and his Napa Valley Lifestyle show was unwatchable (minus the probably uninvited drunken appearance of Poison's CC Deville on set in one of the strangest things i've EVER seen on TV).....Michael Ciarello does know Italian cuisine.

Michael Ciarello is a fag.

Ever watched License To Grill ? I think it's also known as How To Marinade Anything.

there used to be this Latin American cuisine show on PBS here that was mostly a tourism show....with this drop-dead gorgeous Latina who would mostly travel around and flirt with guys on llamas and maybe run some diced onions through the cuisinart in a very full tank top at the end of the show.

she was hot.

Giada makes good food--i've used several of her recipes. Ditto for Paula Deen--her desserts rock my face off, holy crap. Oh, and Alton Brown is awesome too.

Sandra Lee is a tard, and Bobby Flay should die.

speaking of completely gay television programming, i can't get enough of Cash in the Attic and Bargain Hunt on BBCA.

Rachael Ray may be goofy but my wife has gotten some great ideas from her show, not necessarily recipies, but just ideas. She now makes the best marinara sauce in existence because of stuff she learned watching 30 minute meals. There was this one recipe, though, some kind of penne pasta with Italian sausage meatballs and pumpkin white cream sauce (and a dash of vodka :D). RMFO.

Emeril, OTOH, does not make any bad food.

Iron Chef is the best show on FoodTV. The Japanese one, not the silly Americanized version.

funny because I've heard his restaurant sucks

Good Eats is awesome, along with Road Tasted. Alton Brown is my favorite on there right now... $40 a Day is pretty neat, but mostly just because Rachel Ray is just adorable and her face when she tastes something good makes me feel funny inside.

The only reason I watch Throwdown with Bobby Flay is to see the local cooks. I hate that pompous ***. Boy meets grill sucks *** because he just kind of sits there. No life.

Unwrapped with Mark Summers makes me smile for some reason.

Which one? He owns about 10 in 3 cities.

Also, don't discount the fact that the person who told you that may not have a sophisticated enough sense of taste to appreciate decent food. You may be getting your info from someone who thinks a gourmet meal is getting a mint chocolate chip shake with their Braums combo #3. :D

Was that the show where they had the episode about how the Belgians make beer? That one rocked. :D

Man, I felt so bad for him. He's OCD, and on that show... Yikes. I'm surprised he didn't flip out and choke someone.

And that's the show that goes into how different candies and other packaged goods are made. There might have been a beer one, but I'm not sure.

Actually there was! They did a "Beer Unwrapped" a couple of years ago, according to their site. But the one I was thinking of was "Follow that Beer".

There's also a Modern Marvels episode on brewing, and several good beer episodes of the Thirsty Traveler.
