I assume an oil /gas thing , ive owned this land for 14 yrs and this is the 1st one

well, again, I have no idea what the going rate is, but I can't imagine it would be too much. what they do nowadays is pretty minimally invasive. they'll lay down a bunch of geophones (basically microphones on the ground), and drive a funny looking truck around which will lower a big plate onto the ground and vibrate the ground for a few seconds. they typically do this at a large number of locations.

assuming there are no crops to destroy around this time of year, you'll probably notice no effects at all.....unless they use dynamite...its not used much anymore on seismic shoots, but every so often its still used.
