So has anyone read this book by Christopher Paolini yet?

It's been around for a while, but I just discovered it when I found out that my daughter's teacher is currently reading it to her class. I found it at Hastings for $10 so I thought I'd check it out. I started reading it yesterday and have to say I'm hooked. It's a very cool read so far if you're into the Fantasy type stuff. Besides, most books about dragons are cool right.

Now my daughter wants me to start reading it with her . . . :D

I was surprised to see the cardboard cutout poster for it in the movie theater this weekend. I remember hearing about that kid that had written it, but didn't realize they were making a movie out of it. Surprising amount of star power in it too it looks like.

The only buzz I had heard about it was that it pretty much was a mash-up ripoff of Star Wars with dragons. Still, I'll have to look it up.

I made it about a third of the way through the book before giving up. The only real impressive thing about it was that it was written by a 15-year-old...but as expected, it's pretty immature and derivitave.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that the movie is better than the book.

You could say that about a ton of movies . . . without the dragon part. :D

I recommend giving it a try . . .
