....(remember we held Texas to 233 yards) or is Colorado just a horrible offense...their QB was firing bullets into the crowd...

Geez, Colorado had just 5 first downs for the game....

cu isn't exactly an offensive juggernaut, but i think we're definately improving. we, for the most part, seem to be figuring out the wrap up and tackle thing. we've played a lot better as of late when compared to the beginning of the year

Let's remember that CU lost to the Montana State Bobcats.

cu wasn't the only game we played well in. even the texas game was a far cry from what the ducks did to us, even if that wasn't enough to beat us

Buffs should have beaten Georgia...

You're right. But let's also remember the long runs up the middle to teams like UAB and lack of turnovers in general for OUs D.

I agree that we should temper the enthusiasm but its' nice to see the D making plays.

Buffs should have beaten Georgia...Very true. I'm not putting the D down. They have certainly improved.

The D is better, but Colorado is freakin' horrible on offense; decent D though

...as a matter of fact, it was just like that. I hadn't thought about it that way.

No. :D

Seriously, how can CU score against anybody?? Our defense is not that good. Nobody's is. The CU passing game was abysmal.

but cu running game was .... ok abysmal whatever that means

every single 3rd and long they had, their QB would go back to pass, and then just take off up the middle of the field right into the teeth of our LBs for a 3 or 4 yard gain. It was a pretty sad offensive display but I felt like we had less blown coverages in general. Great defensive game, terrible offensive game for CU

B-Jax would have run for 150 against the defense that took the field against MTSU.

The ends are receiving some top-notch coaching right now. They've improved immensely from the beginning of the year.

For the record, according to the official NCAA stats, OU is now #11 in total defense at a very respectable 266.7 ypg, ranked ahead of every single Big 12 team.

Sure, we've played a couple of weak sisters, but EVERY team does that.

Also of note is that Tulsa is #9.

The last few weeks the defense has pursued the ball with more vigor and played with a level of intensity resembling that of their previous years.

And as snrfn4ever08 said, we are tackling. That tends to limit teams as well.

And maybe the competition has been the succ (except TX, who is not an offensive powerhouse either), but sometimes that just what the Dr. ordered for a team who needs to work on some fundamentals.

Thats good for the defense, but do you really think we have the best defense in the conference? I don't.

Only if you measure defense by average yards given up per game total. It's the only stat we lead the conference in defensively.

It's not like other teams haven't played weak sisters as well (Texas has played SHSU and Rice).

And it's not like the meat of our schedule is all in front of us. We still have Missou and TAMU, but we also have OSU and Baylor.

Yeah, but to be honest I think this stretch we have left in Big 12 play is tougher than anyone elses.

@ Missouri
@A&M
@ Baylor
@ O-State
vs. Tech

Who would want that schedule? Every team in the conference, Texas included would have trouble in those games. Well, Texas already played Baylor...but Baylor shut em down till the 2nd quarter.
