? for PC knowin' folks

I'm preparing to by a new PC and could use some advice in terms of processors. Should I go with:
Pentium® D Processor 915 with Dual Core Technology (2.8GHz, 800FSB)
Intel ® Core™2 Duo Processor E6400 (2.13GHz, 1066 FSB)
Is AMD even an option?
Others???

PC will be used for light gaming and some Video Editing (burning MiniDV camcorder footage onto DVD.

Im out of the loop on which one of those would be best, I think i would go with the Core 2.

Make sure you load up on RAM if you are video editing.

I would go AMD, I haven't really read up on the DUO Core 2 processors, but I do know that the AMD X2 processors were superior to the first intel Duo Core processors (mainly because of memory architecture)
