met a few new names this tailgate.....one of the better gatherings, they just seem to get better and better
kudo's to phil's dad and his rum...that pig was AWESOME........and the folks that made the potato salad........please give me that recipe.....
and a big thanks to SBSB who actually brought some birthday cake.......Boarder brought a cake as well but it wasnt REALLY a birthday cake...but was still quite yummy

Man, I had a great time on my first trip back to Norman since '98. I really enjoyed meeting Racer X, JK, JK III, Howzit, mdklatt (quieter than I expected), Norm, Phil's Dad, PG, jaux, VK, Boarder, Czar (if ever so briefly), bri, and I know I'm forgetting a few. Solo trips usually aren't as fun, so thanks for all your friendliness and hospitality. I actually did feel like I'd known you all for 6 years.
I also want to give a special thank you to Dean and his family. Your hospitatlity was immeasurable and I enjoyed visiting with you in person, finally. I think I speak for everyone when I say you do a great job with the tailgates and we really appreciate it.
By the way- Dean's nothing but a big softie. And Racer- I tried to start the "Pride Sucks" thread but spomeone beat me to it:

I forgot to tell you all the best part of the trip.
On the way to the stadium to find a ticket I ran into David Boren. He asked me to watch the game from his skybox. Of course I accepted. Turns out, Switzer, Billy Sims, and Tommy McDonald were also there. We all got bored midway through the second and played high stakes poker until the start of the fourth (Tommy left for halftime festivities and I won $735- Switzer can't bluff to save his life). By the middle of the fourth me, Switzer, and McDonald were playing quarters with Cap'n Morgan. By 0:00, ol' Tommy had a little Cap'n in him.
