I went off to go hunting for deer for the week and I haven't had any luck yet. I'm walking out the door to my hunting spot this morning and my cellphone rings, it's the wife she hit a deer with her car on the way to work. She's a better hunter than me I guess but my way is cheaper. The Toyota didn't fare to well!:D  :O

My mom hit a deer yesterday morning too... actually, the deer hit her.

Her car is still driveable, but apparently it's pretty banged up.

Most of these deer don't even carry insurance too.

It's a crying shame.

So if you kill a deer with your car out of season are you allowed to keep it?

We almost nailed 2 deer on the way to Panama City a few weeks ago. We were on one of those boackroads in south Alabama (where there are no street lights) and out of nowhere we see mama and baby deer standing in the middle of the road, as I am doing about 60-70 towards them. Luckily I was able to slow down enough to navigate between them and avoid hitting either of them - I had to still be doing around 30 by the time I went between them. Never saw them until we were about to hit them, I don't know how I missed them...

Per OK State Regs, you have to call the local Game Warden and get permission.

I had a freak deer accident a few years ago. An oncoming vehicle struck a deer causing it to go airborne and crash through my window into the back seat of my car. The deer exploded upon entry. Blood, guts and glass went everywhere inside the car. Witnesses thought we had been killed due to the blood covering all of the windows of the car.

We called to get the interior of the car cleaned, but found it would be 2 weeks before they could do it. As it was in the summer, we knew the car would have to be thrown away if we waited 2 weeks. We had to take the entire interior including side panels out of the car and clean it ourselves. Yuck.

The incident has changed the way I think of deer forever.
