I just finished my second bowl of their home made vanilla (maybe made at melo's house?)

I rarely eat ice cream but damn, this stuff is good.

Do they make peppermint ice cream? I love Braum's peppermint ice cream and would love it if Blue Bell made some as well.

I have a half gallon of Birthday cake in my freezer. If any of you ever want to come take the tour, I'll hook you up with a free tour and all you can eat ice cream.

Blue bell is all I will eat, with two exceptions. One is Haagen Daz (sp?) Bailey's ice cream, and the other is Ben and Jerry's Half baked. Haha... baked. Anyways. Blue bell is the s**t. Its the best thing about living in Brenham.

I had Bluebell and did the tour when I visited my Aunt and Uncle in Texas. I didn't think it was appreciably better than Blue Bunny.

As a cheesecake addict, I feel it important that you know that I will be stalking you until you give me the recipe. fyi.

Cheesecake Ice Cream
12 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
14 oz fat-free sweetened condensed milk
2 cups fat-free half and half (Land O'Lakes)
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp pure lemon extract
1/2 tsp pue almond extract

Place the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk in a bowl. On medium speed, mix together until smooth. If the cream cheese is not at room temperature, it will be lumpy. Slowly add the rest of the ingredients.
Refrigerate for 2 hours or longer. Resist tasting.
Freeze according the instructions on your ice cream freezer.
You may top with a fruit sauce, if desired.
This only makes 5 cups of ice cream, which is all my new ice cream maker will hold.

I've never understood this fascination with Blue Bell. Sure, it's good ice cream, but it's no Braum's.

I'm guessing it's a Texas thing.

There is nothing like going up to Blue Bell and getting ice cream fresh off the line... It hasnt had time to fully ice cream-ify, and its like a milk shake.

Plus, I think its cool that all of the ingredients in Blue Bell's ice cream is all from Brenham and the surrounding areas. Like... the Birthday Cake ice cream... they have this special part of the factory where they make the sprinkles, just so they can still say they get all of the ingredients from here.

Compare Braum's ingredients against blue bell. bb uses lots of high fructose corn sweeteners, plus it is made in Texas.

Try a peppermint shake with chocolate syrup in it.
Those peppermint shakes are dangerous. If the agitator misses one of the larger mint pieces, it will clog your straw right up.
