Hey guys, I know there is a couple posts here and there about him, but I just wanted to gather a few opinions on him.

Now I am not trying to bash the guy or anything like that at all, so don't get me wrong here. But I think.. I don't know, he is a little less then 'stellar'. He seems to be decent and a hard worker, especially on special teams. But I cannot see him stepping in to be our starter, and making our ground game effective. My friends feel the same way.

I think that maybe Gute would be better? He is a very hard worker as well, and when we do get to see him in action, he seems to be exciting to watch and I would think a better running back then Patrick.

I know I don't go to practice and watch them for hours a day like our coaching staff does, and they more then likely know whats best for the team. Most of your are older and wiser then me, and have been around football for a longer time, so I was wondering.. What are your opinions on Patrick?

He made one heck of a hit on Special Teams yesterday.

I sit in the South endzone and I thought he killed the guy.

GO AP!

What are you talking about? Hes just as good as AD. Maybe even better. :texan:

BTW...I think the two of them are rock solid and together will keep the opposing defenses guessing the rest of the year.

I mean I know hes not an AD or anything, but I do feel like we can't have a balanced attack using him.

Yeah, I had great seats yesterday too.. He did almost kill that guy!

I still think the Coaches didn't play them as much only because they were trying to get AD the Heisman.

The pressure is off now.

I see this team coming together fast.

Patrick's burst through the hole is faster than AD. I mean, he is a better runner between the tackles (IMHO). Gute is the outside guy. AD did both.

Not a problem.....AD is easily bottom 10 running backs in the history of OU.

I thought Patrick did a great job while AD was out with his ankle injury last year. Hopefully he'll really be concentrating to cut back on the fumbles, but I think he'll do a great job.

So he wont be in the backfieled 8-9 yrds behind the line that AD was. Good to hear. That drove me crazy.

An article at the beginning of the season said he was the best kept secret in the country.

I hope our O-line learns to run block in the next few days or it won't matter who is running the ball.

well, Gute's is only one less than Q ;)

i just hope they can both hold onto the ball, otherwise, i'm not that worried, i think they can get it done

i think ap and mexi-q are going to do a great job in there. they are both talented runners, just very different from ad.

they'll both get some valuable experience in some big games for us and allow the team to come together.

i loved watching ad run because he was a home run guy. we'll be more of a balanced, ball-control offense. opposing defenses are going to be challenged more mentally with these guys, as opposed to physically with ad.

get well ad. we'll miss you.

He's awesome! All of us South Carolina boys are. ;) It should show what talent he has that the OU coaches came all the way over here to get him. Could have been a Tiger, could have been a Gamecock, but no hes a Sooner. And I for one am *amn glad he is. BOOMER!

here's an interesting thought.

upcoming opponents have virtually ZERO film of our run game now.
