i just talked to my boyfriend--he's trying to talk to his mom. she called but the connection was bad, so i'll find out soon how things are.

i think all the phone circuits are jammed.

yeah, I called twice and got nothing, so I don't want to tie up the phone.

Just trying email and IM's...

Looks like most of the damage is landslides and no power on Maui.

yeah, i've heard Oahu has lost power too--at least that's what CNN said

Our company's trip was to Hawaii this year. One of the Tulsa reps is still there. I hope she gets back safely.

I'm really glad that I hadn't been working here long enough to qualify for that trip.

You could have just paid for it yourself if you would have sold that trailer. ;)

Dude its a double wide. Also, I'm going to make the trip for next year. Seriously, somebody needs to buy this house. Having three mortgage payments is NOT cool.

Anyways, back to more important topics. I hope nobody was hurt in the earthquake.

I hope you sell it and I hope there is no aftermath or continued quaking.

I'd be at the airport trying to get to the nearest continent.

I've stood on top of Daimondhead and I saw Mt. St. Helens erupt...

I couldn't imagine living there.

I love the locals and the week I spent there was so memorable.

God Bless all those affected.

they're not allowing outgoing flights, so you'd be wasting your time ;)

I guess there was a 2nd quake?

Dude, my girl is going to get another free, really bad vacation.

Thanks for hoping that I sell my home.

Our new house is much cooler.

I too hope everyone is ok.

Stooptroop your one line sentences are killing me smalls.

no, there have just been aftershocks.

they're allowing incoming flights, but not outgoing ones.

Last time I remember a quake out that way was back in 1990....we barely felt it on Oahu. With all the hubub about Kilauea it's easy for people to forget that there is a faultline in that area.

Yeah, that makes sense.

"Tower, this is Northwest 1576 heavy. We need an approach vector."

"Northwest 1576, this is Honolulu, we've had some seismic activity, please divert to LAX."

"Um, tower, that's like five hours away..."

"Northwest 1576, we've got some spilled coffee here. Please clear the airwaves."

[nerd rant]Actually Hawaii's earthquake activity comes from what's know in the geoscience world as a hotspot.[/nerd rant] ;)

Hope my house is fine. Guessing the power might be out.
