Coker should probably step down ASAP. He tried, but his style just doesn't seem to work down there.

Yeah, I just saw the tape. Holy crap, that was sickening. Helmet swinging? Stomping? Kicking? F*ckin' sad. Miami as all the swagger and attitude of the old days...and none of the talent.

What p*sses me off MOST is that in all that chaos, no one planted a cleat in Smellsofbourbon.

I hope the NCAA gets involved. Shameful, disgusting, repugnant...insert your adjective of choice.

For video, I'd look for the whole five-minute thing to hit YouTube in minutes. For those who like to read:

From ESPN.com...

MIAMI -- A sideline-clearing brawl interrupted the third quarter of the Florida International-Miami game Saturday night, prompting the ejection of at least 10 players in the first meeting between the South Florida schools.

The fight started shortly after Jon Peattie's extra point with 9:00 left in the third quarter gave Miami a 14-0 lead. Both sidelines quickly emptied, with several fights breaking out during the melee before order was restored.

The brawl lasted about five minutes, and it took officials several more minutes to sort out the penalties. Players from both sides appeared to be swinging helmets, and one injured FIU player came onto the field swinging a crutch at Miami players.

More than two dozen uniformed police officers came onto the field, trying to end the fights.

Both teams had five players ejected, though it was not immediately clear which players were tossed.

Several minutes after order was restored on the field, one fight broke out among fans in the northwest corner of the end zone, with more than 12 police officers running into the stands to break up that melee. More officers, including some wearing helmets, continued to surround the perimeter of the field.

Tensions ran high throughout the evening, with several instances of players exchanging heated words at the end of plays.

But emotions quickly boiled over after Miami's second touchdown.

James Bryant caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Wright, then drew a 15-yard flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. After that catch, he appeared to point at the FIU bench, then took a theatrical bow.

Moments later, Peattie kicked the extra point and the brawl started.

John Saunders said it best when he said that there should be several players suspended for the rest of the season; great to watch, but bad for college football

let me guess, after the penalities were dished out and assessed, it ended up offsetting each other and resulted in a repeat of the down?

What was really funny was the Miami players that were putting their hands up in the "U" symbol to the crowd after the fight ended... like they were proud of living up to the UM tradition or something.

oh and Merriweather stomping on that dude reminded me of the nutstomping Godbold had last year. For those that haven't seen it yet he kinda waited on the outside for a bit then came in and started stomping on the back of people's calves.

Stomping, helmet weilding, kicking, crutching....not bad.....could've used some chairs or tridents though.

I prefer the CU/UM mile high rumble.

Remember back in the 80's and 90's, when Miami would routinely get in brawls with the likes of Notre Dame and FSU before nationally televised matchups of Top 10 teams? And now, they're fighting with Florida International on a regionally-televised game.

Makes. Me. Giggle. :D

video on the espn motion videos on the espn cfb page.

"After the play, we had numerous unsportsmanlike personal fouls on each team that will offset. There are also multiple ejections on each team that will offset."
