That camera moves, does closeups and zooms. Is it operated by a photographer during the day, or is it just really high tech?
It's really a video camera mounted on a high-powered rifle and for $10,000.00 you can bag your choice of African Bounty. :D

For those of you who want to view the feed from the office without missing out on work, here's how you can do it.

* Right click on an empty part of your task bar, select "Toolbars", and make sure "Windows Media Player" is checked.

* Open Windows Media Player, click "File", click "Open URL", and then paste this address into the box: http://live.wildlife.wavelit.net/451OK

* Minimize Windows Media Player and it should set itself up on your taskbar so that only the controls can be seen (play, stop, mute, etc)

* Click the upper right button that looks like one arrow pointing up and one arrow pointing down. This will put the video in a small window that you can view while you're working. Below that button is another button you can click that will restore Windows Media Player to its regular size (useful when the hyenas come back).

kind of interesting watching them. they're like a military outfit. one is on point who leads the way and scouts. 3 others follow right behind. 1 in the back. 1 or two get drinks while others keep watch closeby and on the perimeter. good stuff. it also takes those tall suckers a minute or so to get properly situated to get a drink. they're really tall.

Hell girl, I hadn't even gotten to the "R's" yet. Raptors and rodents. A very cool thing is to watch the hawks when I'm cutting hay. The mice and rats go running across the freshly cut grass, and the hawks wear their narrow little asses plum out. And then the mice and rats that get hit by the mower get picked up by the buzzards. Of course there's another "R" word that my mower sometimes hits too. rabbits.

There was a GINORMOUS owl in my yard a while back. He was about 4 feet tall sitting. He let me get really close to him and then he thought he'd let me know that I was too close by flying in one slow circle above me...never made a sound. Then he landed back where he was sitting, looked at me and then snapped his flesh-ripping-apart beak. Sounds like a ginat branch snapping two or something.

So I left him alone.

Those things are awesome. They have the neatest faces...

a bunch of messicans were putting down sod in my parents' back yard today and they scared a mouse--it was out in the middle of the yard trying to find someplace to hide and it ran toward one of the messican dudes. My mom said he screamed like a little girl, jumped around for a bit, then smashed the thing with his shovel.
