the Noble place is called Sam's, i think

it's on the East side of Hwy 77 before you hit Subway and Sonic and other civilization out there

it's better than the other fast food crap in Norman, but it's still not that great IMO

Sam's Place is pretty freakin' good, if you just want really well-done bersions of standard Americanized Chinese food.

The dude that used to start those is one interesting guy. He would start a sandwich shop up and get board with it once it started going good. He sold the one at 59th and Penn to a lady that used to work for him. He used to be baking bread early in the morning when I would be next door at the paint store. He would fix me a sub on the bread right out of the oven.

He promised me free subs when my first was born and we stopped by on the way home from the hospital. Really nice guy.

BTW, he gave City Bites a leg up getting started and when they won business of the year, they didn't give him an ounce of credit.

well, alcohol was involved, but i don't remember not paying for beers with coins

some Zimas were imbibed

there were no trips to the moon though

back in the day, there were lots of non-gays on coin beer night, mostly international students

wow, mdklatt sure got defensive when I posted that. must be his favorite bar. ;)

I've never been to the Habana Inn either but I know that I'd rather stay at a motel 6 than the Habana Inn.

Y'all could fag up a thread about Linda Lovelace.

Penny Hill is indeed good eats. I ate there Wednesday. Had the Bronx Bomber on wheat. It's pastrami and egg salad. It's goooood. And I'm not sure why mdklatt thinks it's pricey. It's 20 times better than Quiznos, and cheaper. I got a whole (about 14" or so), chips, and a drink for less than $10. A baby sammich, chips, and a small drink at Quiznos is like $62.

Sams is good for quicky Chinese. It is not great. There really isn't a great Chinese restaurant in town that I know of. However, Sam's is much better than Pei Wei, and rivals PF Chiangs on some dishes. Which means neither of those dumps are great either.
