Looking for Vets of Operation Gothic Serpent
My son's History club at West Perry High School is working on their next Monument/Memorial to be dedicated in the spring. It is to honor the 19 men killed in Operation Gothic Serpent, Somolia.
Alex is the head researcher for the club, and is looking for any information he could find, especially from anyone who may have served there.
In this particular operation SFC Randall Shughart ( born and raised in the neighboring county) and MSG Gary Gordon of Maine, received the Medal of Honor posthumously for their actions.
My understanding in addition to Army Rangers, forces for the 10th Mountain division were also involved in the operation. If any one on the board knows anyone who might be able to provide any information, Please let me know.
