sorry...i was in a meeting........and its work

no self respecting 24K poster would "hate this place" (soonerfans)

one of the leads that works for me....ugh, its just too long to explain......but in short....she's the type thats easily offended.....anything i say to her "i'm offended"

so we had a "come to jesus meeting" this morning

several weeks ago, her, myself, my boss and the other lead were discussing work flow with a new change from the city of houston on storage lots.....so my boss says "what do you think about this?"

she says "which part".........i say "any part"

she was offended by that..

it goes on and on.....she's the surliest individual i've ever met, yet according to her she has no culpability in any of it

the bottom line is that she doesnt like me personally....thats fine....that happens at work

she says "its just not me that thinks you talk "to" people, other people have complained too"

i wanted to say "oh yeah, well i got a bunch of private green spek but i cant tell you their names either"

she says that people have complained to my boss - so i march in there "if i need to change how i do business, please tell me.....who is complaining about me?"

just her....

she was out all last week, and i found an error in one of her claims....so i sent her an email asking her to explain to me how she arrived at the total loss computation.....it wasnt any kind of ominous email, just "explain it to me in case i missed something"

so she reads it tuesday morning and never responds, so i asked her about it yesterday, she says "i deleted it, i looked at the claim and one of the other adjusters paid it while i was gone so i just assumed it was taken care of"

she didnt think she needed to respond to her boss......ummm yeah, ok

so i wrote her up and it felt really good

Did your company send you to any special classes on how to deal with your employee's. Mine did it was called the DDI class. Can't tell ya what DDI stands for but it has helped me with problem employee's. It teaches how to tell an employee to STFU in a nice constructive way. Next we learned about the PIP [Personal Improvement Process] This you use in three levels for the problem employee who doesn't STFU to get them out the door.

Some people want a buddy instead of a boss . . . things are cool when you're buds, but try to be a boss and it starts hittin' the fan.
