My retard mythology professor. Aside from being incompetent, this week I have to read Jamaican folktales and many of them deal with Anansi, a sp*der-man (literally). On every frickin page of these stories she has big close-up pictures of sp*ders.

mother****er.

Pshaw. Like there's anyone who doesn't know who Anansi is.

For a good take on Anansi, read American Gods by Neil Gaiman. He's a character and he's done very well.

Anansi Boys by the same author is not as good.

Don't tell me - you got hooked on Neil Gaiman by Good Omens, right? ;)

Yeah, me too. I just haven't read American Gods yet.

See, I loved the book, but I mostly loved what Pratchett did with it. His influences were so obvious, and Gaiman just didn't really... do it for me.

He is an excellent writer, though.

This may be just the therapy you need to overcome your ridiculous, unfounded, and very unwarranted fear of arachnids. Do you hate ladybugs? They serve the same purpose as spiders.

And I wish they'd have offered retard mythology when I was going to school. I very well might pass this class.

I have Good Omens in the queue, but I readn American Gods about a year ago. Very interesting, to say the least. Gaiman's movie MirrorMask is excellent.

It would take me an hour to do it and by then the moment will be gone. Damn Czar and his job.

Yes and no. I checked Gaiman out because of Good Omens, but it's pretty dissimilar to his other stuff.

Guy can write a mean comic book, I'll tell ya that.
