View Full Version : The new "whining" rule in the NBA

Does anybody believe that they will actually enforce it? Against the "marquee" teams and players that is. Oh, Golden State will get their fair share of technicals, but I don't see the premier teams getting called.

Commissioner David Stern, long fed up with players' histrionics over questionable calls, is threatening to hit them with quick technical fouls -- and later fines -- for those who curse, throw their hands up, or make other gestures that show disgust. So, players aren't allowed to have emotion after a call that goes the other way?

Oddly enough, the NBA league office is in Eugene, OR.

yeah.

we need more AIs and Stephen Jacksons.

Integrity and team mentality is overrated.

Losing and being benched is there to alleviate that behavior.

and Stephen Jacksons.

Jail is there to alleviate that behavior.

But those types of players are found more often in the league than players of integrity.

Ever wonder why the Spurs got rid of Stephen Jackson? Now you know.

This thread is not about bad behavior, it's about whining. Hmmmmm. :D

I wonder if the rule extends to certain owners.

http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2006/writers/phil_taylor/06/21/mavs.finals/t1_cuban1.jpg

I mean, I love the Mavs. And I love what Mark's done here in Dallas. But there's a part of me that believes that on the occasion they get screwed by the refs, it's due in large part to the courtside behavior of Cuban. Not accusing the refs of having a bias against him. I think it's something that's subconscious on their part.

Oh, and if half the Spurs get T'ed up for 'whining' in the first half on November 2nd, we'll know the rule works. :D

SAS needs to get T'd up for his behavior in this thread. Talk about whiny.

Why don't we move the thread to the football board?

This is about whining in the NBA, not paranoid delusionals. Try and keep up.

You can't prove to any Spurs fan that the Spurs do something wrong. To all the Mexicans in SA the Spurs are God. Exactly why I hate the Spurs, their fans are worthless.

SAS, you haven't tried to refute the claim that Duncan's a whiner or rate his actions relative to other players. Your whole arguement to me was about how he is a good guy and that there are other guys in the NBA who are thugs. So, I guess it's a given that even Spurs fans think Duncan whines. :D

I think it's over rated to act like nobody else does.

I know it's a complete joke for a SOONER to complain about it right now.

Or a Mav fan.
