In reading numerous posts on this board, I have heard folks mention that we have lost that swagger, and I agree. Our defense, especially our backfield does not EVER come up and smack folks in face like they used to. Remember Straight, Everage, Williams, Thatcher, Nicholson, Bassey, one of those guys had a hit on every play that made the other team think twice about coming over the middle or a running back cutting it back across the middle. We are definitly missing that aspect of our defense, we need some more highlight footage out of these boys. Now I know that we had the DL and the LB causing hell up front back then, but our linebackers are as good as the previous ones, but our line and ends are not so these current backers are having to play more tenative then in the past. IMHO. Any thoughts?
