I would believe that 4 INTs by Chris would rank as worse.

Yards is only part of the equation.

Worse performance???

He was 11 for 18, 0 picks and two TD passes...

Why the hate?

He was part of the team that was good enough to outpoint our guys. Fair and square.

So 108 yards passing is worthy of Player of the Week honors? Damn, the Big 12 really does suck.

I assume that McCoy really wasn't named POW.

Anybody else up for joining the Big East if Nebraska joins us and Notre Dame also joins?

You ought to hear him talk about his mother-in-law.

Soonerus
10/9/2006, 09:06 PM
No , I was just wondering with all of that poise he showed and excellent decision making if maybe he was recognized...those of us in the stadium certainly recognized his great play and are in mortal fear for the next three years...

sanantoniosooner
10/9/2006, 09:08 PM
Sarcasm and bitterness can be friends, but it doesn't appear that they are in your case.

Colt did what he had to do.

I'm not skeered of him though.

it's like i'm talkin' to my aunt sylivia here.

look dude. you don't ask freshman qb's to win games for you. do you think colt is a little more intelligent than bomar at this point? they weren't going to put him in position to make mistakes yet.

he won't ever win the heisman but for a 12 year old he did a pretty good job.

birddog
10/9/2006, 09:31 PM
actually, big 12 players of the week were big stevie mcgee and aaron ross.

News Flash! Playing well enough to beat the sooners may not qualify for player of the week honors. You have to do something notable for that. But just for comparison, Colt- 2 td's, 0 int. PT-0 td's, 2 int.

And think about it, (if you can do that). A performance you consider below par winning the player of the week would be a compliment to ou, would it not?And why would you care what honor soneone on another team won?

You and faninama are pretty pathetic.

A couple of days is acceptable after a Texas loss in case you are new to the rivalry...plus, I was pumping Colt for the award, what's wrong with that...good sportsmanship no longer appreciated BRI ???

Nate and Colt, good comparison... I'm one to think Paul is right there with them, too... They all are told just to manage their offense and make it their own, and their field position will do the rest for them... Just sux that we outgained them in total yards of offense and still only notched 10 points... I can think of a few games where Nate didn't have outstanding numbers, but OUr defense scored and he had a few TD's himself, making it look as though it was brutal.

It was different, I'm sure, for OU's defense to play Texas and not know what to do... I mean, it seemed as though in 2000, it was play zone and watch for the delayed draw, 2001 was play tight at Corner, 2002 was look for the "power run," 2003 was put pressure on the two n00bs, 2004 was stop VY from running, and 2005 was make VY beat you with his arm. Granted, the results differed from time to time, but who knew what Colt would do to OU??? He's a n00b, yes... but a much different QB than OU was used to playing, I guess.

I am staying out of dozens of them as we speak. If I can add anything constructive (or at least neutral) it's to say McCoy probably wanted a lot more yards, but that's hard to do when he keeps coming out for first down on the OU 14.

birddog
10/9/2006, 10:13 PM

Yeah well, McCoy probably wanted a lot more hair on his boy parts too, but puberty can be an elusive mistress sometimes.

in less than half an hour, you completely misused the terms:

constructive, neutral, and bump.

probably the first time in history a human has butchered that combination...pretty impressive.

slide over, rus...you've got some company w/ slappy on the shortbus.

Exaggerating for effect. Look, I don't think anyone's saying he put up some kind of heroic performance. Just saying to Soonerus: He started nearly every drive from beyond the Texas 38, so you don't need to throw for 300 yards to win that game by a fair amount.

What would he have done with a more open play book in the first half?

Doesn't really matter, the only thing that matters here is winning...
