Why is it that last year, whenever Reggie Bush's stats would be recited on Sportscenter, the announcers would do anything in their power to make his stats look stronger than they really were.

For instance, if he had 80 yards rushing, 30 yards receiving, 25 yards on punt returns and 90 yards on kickoff returns, they would just say he had 225 "all-purpose yards".

And why do we not see that for AD this year? Against Texas, he had 213 "All purpose yards".
125 against MTSU
279 against Oregon
171 against Washington
208 against UAB

Just thinkin out loud here.

those "all-purpose" yards aren't really that impressive... neither were Bush's..... Bush's amazing #'s were yards per touch his Jr. year

I was wondering the same thing yesterday. I don't care if some consider 213 all purpose yards not stellar. He had them, he's a Heisman candidate (somewhat diminished by this omission and the losses) and he deserves the credit of the stats being out there for people to see/hear.

it's because Reggie Bush let them bunk at his fabulous house. Why do you think the story was broken by Yahoo! Sports (???) and not ESPN?

They're still keeping that up now that he's in the NFL. On the Saints/Bucs game, they kept showing all purpose stats, since his rushing numbers suck.

yeah, but he was also putting up like 500 yard games

that's pretty f'ing nuts

If we want the media to hype up AD's all-purpose yards, our information director needs to get that out there. The hype begins at OU and spreads to the media.

When AD takes a return to the house, he'll start getting those sort of numbers mentioned.
