I once saw a small deer and a possum embrace as a semi ended their lives.

2 years ago I hit a deer while driving a semi on the turner at the 153, eastbound. I was going about 78mph.

The worst part was crawling under the truck to figure out what was damaged and having to endure the blood and the odor.

Reminds me - I was working during college with an inventory crew. We were someplace in western Louisiana about 10 pm trying to get to the next town when we hit a deer, on a rural two lane highway. It knocked out the car's electrical system. So we were driving on this road about 20 mph with the headlights barely flickering and the emergency flashers on.

The guy driving the car wanted to get the deer and haul it back with us in the back of the station wagon (this was before SUV's). I didn't think that was a good idea, since we weren't going to be home until the following afternoon. Also, there were two ladies with us - an older lady and a young oriental gal - who was hawt, but her dad was a karate lessons place owner, so I figured it wouldn't be a good ide to try to hit it.

I didn't work at that job very long.

We had a DC-8 hit a deer while landing. It got wrapped up in the front landng gear. Man now that was nasty. But than again a deer skin front strut looked cool

Was the venison salvageable?

"Runway kill" is a little more high-brow than "roadkill."

to be honest, there was not meat left. It was basicly just skin, from what i could see. Luckly i did not have to try and clean it up. I used to have a pic, but my puter crashed about a year ago and i lost it.

A possum makes the same sound when you shoot it with a .22.

A pronghorn makes a loud thumping sound and will lift your right wheel off the ground. It also feels like you plowed into a Corolla. :mad:
