i had a gf who had a Saab 900 in the mid 90's and it was a sweet car to drive but was upscale chick car at the end of the day. tires were Perelli soft numbers and high maintenance and shift "now" light on the dash. i use to run up the rpm's and she'd flip....that thing would have you in 3rd gear going about 30. this is the one i had: but in silver/grey: it was a blast to drive....it climbed like bitch in small ratios 3rd gear in the canyons around Boulder.....i was in awe.

That's when they were building them for climbing in rallys. I have AWD, which was a necessity or I would be getting an suv or IS 250AWD. Which I have heard mixed reviews about.
