How in the world does that team have 3 wins? I watched that game with my buddies and we just could not believe they were a NCAA Div 1 team. Not only have they won 3 games, they almost beat Maryland. North Texas must really be a sad team if they lost 35-0 to MTS.

No sunbelt team should be counted as a D1 team, but even though we beat them pretty good, it was easy to see that they had more athletes than UNT..I could pick 5 teams from the metroplex that would beat UNT..

Yeah, did you watch UNT when they were on TV vs. Texas? Their defense is really, really bad.

mtsu has a pretty good defense. heck, it might even be tops by the end of the season when they run through the sunbelt.

All of which makes me feel somewhat better about our teams' performance so far.

Texas has played cupcakes so far (minus tOSU, of course) and has some outstanding stats.

We've played much overall tougher competition and haven't looked as good, but when we play to the level of the teams Texas has, we beat them 59-0.

The most I can take from our game with mtsu, is that we executed well. Players stuck to their assignments. That's it. They (mtsu) looked pretty sloppy. The question is, will we progress and stick to assignments when playing better talent?

Good post ron. Not that it means much but NT did beat SMU. You can only extrapolate so much from all these cripple fights.

I didnt want to sunshine pump that MTSU game but it shore was good to see our defense consistently staying in position & making tackles for the first time this year.

Don't knock UNT, they're easily the third best football team in Denton behind Denton HS and Ryan HS. Or possibly the fourth best--I'm not sure if Texas Women's University has a football team.

EDIT: I'm sure TWU doesn't have a team or else Texas (and Kansas State) would play them at least every other year.

They do..They have a redshirt sophmore at quarterback majoring in Dental Hygene....had offers from UNT, OSU, and Gary Barnett
