I'm sure your AD made remarks like this in 1998...

Do I think our football team and program are getting better? Absolutely. There were many positives about that game, especially in the way we played from behind in the second half. Everybody witnessed a lot of fight and character in the Aggies last Saturday, and I saw a better football team emerging.

Yup, doesn't get more aggy than that.

Aggies definitely know how to play the game from behind...

Addressing a couple of issues called to our attention: The bat problem is an ongoing battle in Kyle Field. You've heard it all before – protected species, etc. We clean up all week long, and one last time on Saturday morning before games. If you know a way to combat the problem, let us know. We've tried everything. And that wasn't ammonia that one of you reported last Saturday; it was probably the skunk we discovered on the third deck.

The bats have attracted owls, their chief predators, and between them and grackles and pigeons and a skunk, we sometimes feel like Animal Farm except they're not talking.

We've responded to some elevator needs and requests, and in response to Texas Tech fans who threw tortillas – the police, ushers, and security personnel all intervened and confiscated at least seven big bags of tortillas and escorted offenders out of the third deck.

HAHAHA!

I've seen them play since way back when, And they've always had the grit; I've seem 'em lose and I've seen 'em win, But I've never seen 'em quit.

I've seen them quit.

And if RC Slocum was still the HC at the time, they could have fielded a JV high school team and not had 77 dropped on them. Our guys were throwing themselves to the ground! How hard is it to tackle a guy doing that?

This AD just knows that jobs -- probably including his -- are on the line, and he's trying to cover his arse.

Are we disappointed in the outcome against Texas Tech? Absolutely.
Absolutely NOT!!! :D

Deeply.
Bless him, I think he's in love

When teams play worse teams pre-conference, they look better. See Middle Tennessee/Oklahoma!

Yes, the last minute was truly positive... FOR TECH!

Everybody witnessed a lot of fight and character in the Aggies last Saturday, and I saw a better football team emerging.
The better team that's emerging is TECH, not A&M! Get your programs straight... oh wait, you squeezed too hard last Saturday and probably can't even walk. Oh well. That's the Aggie way! Whoop!

Didn't you hear? It's a basketball school, now. They're just counting the days until the first hoop practice. Plus, they're fired up about the new scoreboard at their basketball arena.

did he just compare the current A&M situation w/ Fran to Tom Landry and the Dallas Cowboys?

I hope Aggy rides the Fran train as long as Byrne wants...

but really, I don't blame him...who could?

I'd respond in some crazy way too if I were the one who extended Fran's contract through 2012 at $2 million per year.

I don't know guys... Bill Byrne's address kind of sounds like the dreaded "vote of confidence" for Fran. Here's the deal: I'm not marking any of the games on our schedule as a sure win. I have a feeling we will drop a game or two that at the beginning of the season we thought were going to be Ws. If we also lose to OU, texas and Nebraska in the dreaded month of November Fran will be gone.

As for the Baylor and Rice fans talking smack, get over yourselves. Baylor got a win over K-State in a game that was largely a pillow fight. And Rice beat Army which beat Baylor. BTW, Colorado gets its first win this weekend.

actually.. perhaps.. this is more the reason why...

aggy's standard of excellence is measured by.. The University of Texas. Practically everything aggy does is with UT in mind.

Programs like UT, OU, Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, Ohio State.. have a standard of excellence measured on a national scale.

I feel for the "criminals" that were escorted out for throwing the ever dangerous "tortilla grenade".

They probably made them shave their heads, dress up like army men and forced to grab their nuts until the end of the game.

He should have been gone after the 77-0 game. That was a vote of no confidence by his players.

I don't agree with that. I'll give all the credit to OU -- you simply had superior players at every position. I don't think we had the ball past the 50 the entire game. Your defense was great; A&M didn't quit.

I thought only Okie Aggies took such solice in moral victories.

Then again, listening to some of the horns on here bragging about how the tosu game was closer than the score indicated makes me think that Aggots aren't the only ones clinging to moral victories.
