a squared picked one up (listed as a high risk) and i did a little research.....and while some people seem to report some of the same symptoms (frozen cursor, goofy running browser, etc.) that i've been having for a time.....they are generally considered a "false positive" or the result of an improper installation--seems. i quarantined it, but is this bad stuff on my computer?

some explanation?

TIA.

If this is supposed to be a William Favor style joke, it's still not funny.

i'm guessing it's something that acts like a pr0n dialer

back in the day when people used dial-up you supposedly downloaded this program to get nekkid chicks on your computer, but this program would mute your modem, disconnect you, then dial to some Eastern European country that charges you exorbitant international long distance fees, like Moldova

heuristic means "rule of thumb", its normally used when referring to artificial neural networks. while the initial program is set up with them, the program has the ability to determine patterns in the data and set up its own heuristics. for example -> anti-spam software falls into this category. a dialer would manage commonly used phone numbers for you on a program like windows communicator...
