I've finally got my computer back up and running. But it definitely has some issues. One of the problems is that I keep getting this error, mainly when I'm in Yahoo:
An ActiveX control on this page is not safe. Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result, this page may notdisplay as intended.
Anyone know what the heck this means or how the heck to stop it?? TIA

well, you could lower your security settings, or you could continue to not run unsafe ActiveX controls
another option is to stop using IE ;)

Thanks..but I guess my main problem would be 1) I don't know what ActiveX controls even are. 2) I don't know where to mess with my security settings.

Tools -> Internet Options
click on the Security tab, there are predefined security levels, or you can customize them
you are probably safe on Yahoo!, but i'm not that confident in that statement

An ActiveX control is similar to a Java applet. Unlike Java applets, however, ActiveX controls have full access to the Windows operating system.
they are basically IE only and can be used maliciously
