View Full Version : I have an interview next week

For a postdoctoral position. The University I am interviewing with has 2 positions open, and I'm interviewing for both of them. one of them would put me right back here at the experiment I am currently working on, and one based on the east coast working on an experiment at CERN, which is in Geneva, Switzerland/France. The second would most likely require me to travel frequently to Europe.

Anyway, that is all. Wish me luck.

I should also mention that this is the same lab described (quite badly, I might add) in the Dan Brown novel "Angels and Demons"

go get em Ike.

i got a new academic job for the Spring (interviewed last July) and it's a finicky deal. all you can do is lead with your best punch.

you should really take advantage of any chance you can to travel....paid.

Yes. I believe so. ;)

Seriously, Ike. If you have to choose, take the one with the travel.

Actually if I am forced to choose, I know which one I will choose. The Missus and I have discussed this at length. There are pros and cons to each one.

But I won't let you know what my choice is until a) I am offered a choice and b) I have already accepted a position.

I once had a job that had me travel to Des Moines frequently. I can relate.
