If I can actually see the new hard drive via the SCSI controller interface shouldn't XP also be able see it during the installation of the OS?

Do I need to verify and format the drive first?

TIA!!

i got tired of messing with it and went and bought a 20 gb normal drive for the OS. i have two SATA drives on my controller and it would not boot from them on install

SATA or SCSI?

is your controller onboard or PCI?

during install there is a message that says "Hit F6 (i think) to install third party SCSI controllers" or something similar, this applies to PCI ATA controllers as well, i'd assume it's for SATA too

Good, you can get my effin Dell 9150 (Intel RAID chipset) to install
XP on it next. I killed the weekend trying, and the drivers give me BSOD.
