I noticed, too, that there was nary a fumble.

As much as I enjoyed playing football, I could never understand the enjoyment those guys have playing rugby.

I certainly enjoy watching it...nothing like unloading on somebody like that, especially when they never see it coming. It's a thing of pure primal beauty.

The thing I noticed was that noone ever got away... they all wrapped up, speared them to the turf. We could use some of that.

Brent Venables said we would do away with that junk, it's much better to just throw a loose shoulder or slap them down.

Of course, I'm kidding, folks...

Has everyone noticed the turn from tackling to stripping over the last several years. Players all seem to want to try and strip the ball instead of making the stop on the play. I mean you can watch any game now and the offense seems to get 3 or 4 extra yards because the defender tried to strip instead of tackling. It has probably gone on for ever but seems much more evident as of late.

I mean why not just hit the guy to the ground and if the ball comes out then it comes out. Don't let the guy have extra yards on intial contact.

Everyone likes a good stripper.

Now, I do have problems with the offensive dudes sticking the ball out to try and break the plain of the goalline. The worst example to me this past weekend was the NU play in overtime. IMO NU should have lost that game to KU when the dude fumbled the ball over the goalline. Looked like a touchback but the player was saved by the call that he was out of bounds at the half yard line. I can't believe the replay was so poor on this one. KU could have kicked a field goal and won. But I guess it all works out for Callihan . . . and therefore in favor of Texas and OU.
